Acrylic nails: length that holds up
Sculpted for length and strength, in the shape you want, gel or regular finish, on the Plateau.
What are acrylic nails?
Acrylic is made by blending a powder and a liquid that harden in the open air within minutes. We build the set by hand, over a tip or a form, sculpting the material right on your nail to create the length and shape you're after: almond, square, coffin or stiletto. Once cured, acrylic is rigid and genuinely tough, which is why it holds up best for serious length or bold shapes. We then file and refine it down to a smooth finish before adding colour in gel or regular polish. You leave with a set that won't bend and wears for several weeks before a refill keeps it looking fresh.
Acrylic vs Gel-X vs Bio gel
Acrylic
- Sculpted powder + liquid
- Very strong
- Ideal for big length
Gel-X
- Soft-gel tips
- Low filing
- Lighter feel
Bio gel
- On the natural nail
- Strengthens, little length
- Natural look
Who is it for?
- Anyone who wants real length
- Fragile nails to reinforce for hold
- Bold shapes (coffin, stiletto)
- A transformed look that lasts
- Custom designs and colours
How long does it last?
An acrylic set lasts 3 to 4 weeks before a refill. With cuticle oil and gloves for housework, the wear is even better.
What to expect

What's the difference between a refill and a new set?
At a refill we keep your existing set and just fill in the regrowth at the base, which costs less. A full new set is for when the acrylic has lifted too much or you want to change the shape or length.
How often do I need a refill?
Plan for every 3 to 4 weeks, once the regrowth shows at the base. Leaving it longer raises the risk of lifting and breakage, so it's best to book within that window.
Is the acrylic smell strong?
There's a monomer smell during the sculpting, stronger than with gel. The salon is ventilated and it clears quickly; if the smell bothers you, Gel-X is an almost odour-free alternative.
How much is an acrylic set?
From $60, depending on length, shape and design. We settle the amount with you at the consultation, and it doesn't move at the end.
If I break a nail, can it be fixed?
Yes, a single nail can be repaired or rebuilt without redoing the whole set. Come in soon, though: a cracked nail left too long can catch and lift the acrylic around it.
