Bio gel: the manicure that strengthens your natural nails
Builder gel for naturally beautiful, long-lasting nails — on the Plateau Mont-Royal.
What is Bio gel?
Bio gel — or builder gel — is a nail enhancement applied directly on the natural nail to reinforce it. More flexible than acrylic and more durable than shellac, it follows the nail's natural shape without rigidity. It's the right pick for brittle or fragile nails that need protection without sacrificing the look.
Bio gel vs acrylic vs Gel-X
Bio gel
- Applied on the natural nail
- Flexible, low odor
- Ideal for fragile nails
Acrylic
- Stiffer set
- Longer extensions easier
- Ideal for a visible transformation
Gel-X
- Pre-formed soft tips
- Faster application
- Comparable wear
Who is it for?
- Brittle or fragile nails that need reinforcement
- Allergy or sensitivity to acrylic
- Preference for a natural, understated look
- Daily routines with water contact (dishwashing, showering, cleaning)
- First-time nail enhancement, somewhere between polish and acrylic
How long does it last?
A typical set lasts 3 to 4 weeks before a refill. With a simple care routine — cuticle oil at bedtime, gloves for housework — wear time is even better.
What to expect at your appointment
Prep and clean the nail, apply primer, then a base coat. Gel is built up in short layers, cured under an LED lamp. Glossy or matte top coat, finish. Expect 60 to 75 minutes for the full service.
